Jaime Barahona Urzúa, Judge

Jaime Barahona is a lawyer from Universidad Diego Portales. He holds a postgraduate degree in the Competition and Regulation program at the Business School of Universidad de Los Andes (Chile) and is also graduate of the Master’s in Business Law program from Universidad Católica de Chile. He has been a professor of Antitrust Law at Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Diego Portales and in the joint program of the Summer Law Program of Universidad Diego Portales, Universidad de Chile and American University, Washington College of Law (WCL). He served as National Deputy Prosecutor of the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) from 2006 to 2014, as Attorney Secretary of the TDLC from 2004 to 2006 and of its predecessor, the Resolutive Commission from 1999 to 2004. He is a member of the Competition Commission of the Chilean Bar Association and a member of the Antitrust and Criminal Justice sections of the US Bar Association (ABA). Until June 2020, he served as Senior Associate in the Antitrust area of the Guerrero Olivos law firm. He was appointed as Judge of the TDLC in 2020.
