The Competition Tribunal ruled in favor of the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office, in a lawsuit against Cable Central S.A., controlled by Complejo Manufacturero de Equipos Telefónicos S.A.C.I., CMET, for anticompetitive practices, specifically predatory pricing conducts. The defendant had to pay a fine.
The Competition Tribunal dismissed the lawsuit of the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office against TV Cable Loncomilla, because its actions were justified; it would have disappeared from the market had it not engaged in the allegedly anticompetitive conduct.
In November 23, 2005, the Supreme Court confirmed the Competition Tribunal’s ruling.
